A nonprofit strategist, storyteller, and creative director, Cassie Chavez believes meaningful work grows where purpose and creativity meet.

Born and raised on Maui, Cassie was rooted in ʻohana and the belief that community, connection, and shared responsibility guide how we show up for one another. That foundation continues to influence the way she approaches philanthropy , storytelling, and partnership.

Over the past seven years, she has focused on healthcare philanthropy, supporting donor engagement, narrative-driven fundraising communications, and philanthropic initiatives that enriched her community. Her work blends fundraising strategy with narrative-driven communications and thoughtful design, helping organizations build deeper connections with the people who believe in their mission.

That philosophy eventually grew into The Hoʻoulu Collective—a creative consultancy rooted in the belief that strategy and heart must grow together.

Being born and raised on Maui, ‘ohana has always been at the heart of everything I do.

It’s more than family—it’s the way we show up for one another, the way we uplift and empower our community, and the way we weave connection into every part of our lives. That deep sense of belonging and responsibility has shaped not just who I am, but the work I strive to create.

I believe in the power of ho‘oulu — to grow, to inspire, to empower — and in following our na‘au: that inner knowing where passion and purpose meet. And I believe in the dreams that build stronger communities, nurture creativity, and inspire meaningful change.

I’ve spent the last seven years helping nonprofits and mission-driven organizations tell their stories, strengthen donor relationships, and amplify their impact. Giving back isn’t just something we do — it’s who we are. Over time, that work expanded beyond communications into strategy, design, and partnerships that empower others to grow with clarity and heart.

The Ho‘oulu Collective was born from that evolution — a reflection of my belief that creativity, purpose, and community aren’t separate from business or legacy, but the heartbeat of them. What began as a single consultancy became a collective house of offerings that now supports every stage of life and growth — from wellbeing and storytelling to business development and legacy planning.
